STAT 480 / STAT 481 / STAT 482

In an era when more data is generated than we have the capacity to store,  people who can efficiently manage and analyze data are at a premium. As a result, from the service industries to government to the financial industries (and everywhere in between), the demand for competent SAS programmers is growing. Upon successful completion of this three-course sequence in SAS, you will not only have all of the knowledge to complete the SAS Version 9 Base Programming Certification Exam, but you will also be introduced to a variety of topics in the statistical analysis of data.

This sequence of one credit courses, along with the SAS certification, will add an attractive element to any resume and give you an edge in the job market. In addition to the three separate courses, we offer STAT 483 Statistical Analysis System Programming, which is a three-credit combination of the three one-credit courses, lasting the entire semester. For any of these courses, it is important that you obtain a copy of SAS prior to the start of the class. (See the Statistical Software menu on the left.)

Please Note:  It is recommended that you have some background and experience in applied statistics before taking these courses. These courses are not intended as a good first course to take. If you are just beginning the either the Graduate Certificate or the Masters in Applied Statistics program, STAT 500 then STAT 501 would be the recommended initial progression.
